RealPage says US DOJ has no reason to oppose transfer of algorithmic price-fixing suit

( November 1, 2024, 20:56 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: RealPage told a US federal judge that the Department of Justice's opposition to transferring an antitrust lawsuit against it confirms there is "no good reason" for the case to remain in North Carolina, and argued that the proceeding will move more quickly and be more convenient in Tennessee or Texas. The DOJ does not dispute that operative witnesses, facilities and documents are outside the US Middle District of North Carolina, RealPage said in its reply supporting a transfer. "RealPage, like plaintiffs, wants its day in court," it said. "It seeks transfer to the Middle District of Tennessee precisely because that court — which already has decided a slew of discovery and procedural issues presented by the MDL that also will need to be resolved in this litigation — is best positioned to speed this case along," RealPage said....
