Khan's potential renomination as FTC chair cause of 'deep concern,' US House says

( November 1, 2024, 00:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chair James Comer released a staff report that says there's reason for "deep concern" that Federal Trade Commission Chair Lina Khan could be renominated by the current or next president to continue in her service as commissioner and chair at the agency. The report, “The Federal Trade Commission Under Chair Lina Khan: Undue Biden-Harris White House Influence and Sweeping Destruction of Agency Norms," said Khan’s chairmanship "has left a landscape strewn with the wreckage of due process, the rule of law, ethics, respect for U.S. international interests, and the career ranks" at the FTC. Her term as chair expired Sept. 25, and there are abundant reasons for concern should she be renominated by the current or next president to continue, the report said....
