Australian privacy watchdog urges precautionary approach to AI adoption

In a speech on Tuesday, Australian Privacy Commissioner Carly Kind said recent calls by technology companies to slow the pace of AI development had reinforced the case for a cautious approach to the technology. Kind added that she’s been appointed to a new AI Review Committee, which will advise on high-risk, sensitive, complex and novel AI uses in public service.
