The digital IDs would allow users to prove their age without having to disclose other personal data included on traditional physical IDs, such as their name or address, and also help businesses avoid having to detect fake or borrowed identification, a statement said. Pubs, restaurants, shops and other licensed businesses in England and Wales can now accept digital ID as a proof of age for alcohol sales, a move that should help protect users' privacy and give retailers additional confidence that customers are above 18, the UK government said on Tuesday....
