( September 11, 2026, 06:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The timeline for the review of Saipem’s proposed merger with Subsea7 has been extended by 15 days in Australia. In a brief update on its website on Friday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said that the timeline was extended following request by the parties to extend the period to respond to the regulator’s notice of competition concerns published in August. The notice of competition concerns, published as the regulator commenced its Phase 2 in-depth review, said that initial investigation found that the deal is likely to substantially lessen competition in the supply of subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines, or SURF. The regulator is now likely to announce its determination on Dec. 1. instead of Nov. 10.Update follows....
