Extia faces €300,000 French GDPR fine over erasure-request failures

( September 9, 2026, 07:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Extia, an IT and engineering consultancy, has been fined €300,000, after the French data watchdog found it had failed to properly handle or respond to erasure requests from job applicants and former employees. The authority found that 12 requests had gone unprocessed, 166 people had received no outcome, and 27 had been notified late. The CNIL said that Extia's citation of automatic deletion did not exempt it from informing applicants of the outcome.Statement follows in French. ...
