Belgian football association sees antitrust action dropped after change of quota rule

( September 8, 2026, 14:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Belgian Competition Authority has closed its investigation into the Belgian football association, it said on Tuesday. The proceedings began in August last year following a complaint by several Belgian football clubs, which claimed that the association’s quota unfairly advantaged teams which consisted of younger players during relegation. The BCA subsequently advised that the potentially discriminatory rules be removed, and the association voted to do so in June.Statement attached....
