Interior Minister Yoon Ho-jung said Monday that he would recommend Kim for appointment to the president among four candidates, citing Kim’s extensive experience in criminal investigations at the Prosecution Service by serving in major posts, including the head of criminal investigations at the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office. The new agency will investigate serious crimes, including corruption, economic crimes, defense-acquisition offenses, drug offenses, crimes against state security, cybercrimes and offenses committed by law enforcement and judicial officials, as well as other related crimes.
