The judgment addresses issues of inconsistency which can arise when patents are challenged.The EPO has said that patent descriptions should be amended to address any inconsistencies which arise when the claimed patent is changed during hearings or appeals, as a necessary step to ensure consistency and avoid non-compliance with the European Patent Convention....
