Brazil fines TikTok over minors’ privacy failures

The National Data Protection Agency’s investigation stemmed from a complaint alleging non-compliance with the country’s General Data Protection Law in 2021. The ANPD found irregularities in two categories: the “feed without registration,” available to any user without the need to create a TikTok account, and the “feed with registration,” linked to a profile registered on the social network. The company must also implement a compliance program to protect users under the age of 18 in Brazil.
