Roblox to step up child-grooming safeguards in Australian undertaking

( August 20, 2026, 01:51 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Gaming giant Roblox has given a court-enforceable undertaking to Australia’s online safety regulator to introduce stronger measures to protect children from grooming, sexual exploitation and abuse. In a statement on Thursday, the Australian eSafety Commissioner said that the regulator accepted the undertaking following concerns that Roblox was not meeting its obligations under the Online Safety Act’s codes and standards, “including allegedly failing to have sufficient measures in place to prevent contact between adults and children under 16.” The regulator said that it would not hesitate to take further enforcement action if the company failed to deliver on its commitments.Statement follows.
