China fines transport association, 12 driver-training companies over price fixing

( August 10, 2026, 03:04 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A transport industry association and 12 driver-training companies in China’s Sichuan Province were fined in July for fixing training prices, according to administrative-penalty decisions released Friday by the State Administration for Market Regulation. Investigators found that the Bazhong Road Transport Association organized the companies between September 2021 and May 2024 to agree on and enforce common training prices, including setting standard fees and penalizing companies that charged below the agreed levels. The association was fined 500,000 yuan ($73,633), while each of the 12 companies was fined the equivalent of 3 percent of their 2023 sales, with penalties ranging from 41,537 yuan to 426,586 yuan.Statement follows and notices of penalty decision are attached (in Chinese)....
