South Korea adopts AI healthcare strategy amid shift to super-aged society
( August 6, 2026, 05:38 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea on Thursday adopted a government-wide Basic AI Healthcare Strategy as part of efforts to use artificial intelligence to respond to rapidly rising healthcare demand as the country transitions to a super-aged society. The Ministry of Health and Welfare said the strategy is built on three pillars: AI-driven healthcare innovation that people can experience in their daily lives, the development of a nationwide digital foundation for AI healthcare innovation and the creation of a sustainable AI healthcare ecosystem. Under these pillars, the strategy sets out 12 initiatives, including introducing remote AI medical services in isolated areas, developing sovereign medical AI models and establishing a global AI hub.The statement is attached (in Korean)....
