Eliminating ownership cap unlawful, won't relieve pressure, US FCC Commissioner Gomez says

Gomez spoke out against the upcoming agency vote to eliminate the broadcast ownership cap, arguing that the move is unlawful and "does not free local broadcasters from economic pressure, it just changes who is doing the squeezing." Gomez cited ownership changes at newspapers across the country that resulted in the elimination of over 3,300 publications and how removing that cap did not save the industry.
