Deadlock over key appointments unlikely to constrain Brazil's privacy watchdog

The agency's strengthening in light of its new responsibilities eases concerns about leadership vacancies, as temporary appointees could be designated until permanent successors are named.Brazil's privacy regulator, the National Data Protection Agency, or ANPD, is likely to lose two of its top officials with no guarantee that the positions will be filled by the end of 2026. Yet, that does not appear to be a major constraint for a regulator that has gained increasing prominence under the current administration, MLex has learned....
