McCarroll's Automotive Group's dealership bid reviewed in Australia
( July 23, 2026, 07:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The proposed acquisition of substantially all the assets of the motor-vehicle dealership businesses operated by Kinghorn Motors and Country Motor Company by McCarroll's of Moss Vale, through special purpose vehicle MAG South Coast, will be reviewed by the Australian antitrust watchdog. In a statement late on Wednesday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said that McCarroll's also proposes to acquire the land on which the dealerships operate. The regulator said that while McCarroll's operates 15 franchised new and used car dealerships across regions in Sydney, Kinghorn Motors operates two and Country Motors operates three franchised dealerships in the Nowra region of New South Wales.
