( July 22, 2026, 03:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: As artificial-intelligence chatbot services have become part of children's daily lives, South Korea needs a more coordinated response from the government, parliament and parents, the National Assembly Research Service said in a report published Monday. While many countries have adopted tougher measures, including age-based restrictions, to address the risks posed by AI chatbot services, South Korea's legal framework remains rooted in conventional regulatory concepts, the parliamentary research arm said. It urged authorities to move beyond piecemeal legal and ministry-specific responses by establishing a government-wide framework. Relevant ministries should clearly define their respective responsibilities and how related laws interact to create a coordinated regulatory system, the report said.The report is attached (in Korean)....
