State AGs denied intervention in US private settlements with property managers

( July 16, 2026, 16:56 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The attorneys general of the District of Columbia and the states of Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey and Washington have been denied their motion to intervene in private plaintiffs' settlements with landlords and property managers in antitrust litigation over RealPage rental pricing software. In an order denying the motion, US District Judge Waverly Crenshaw said the states' reading of the settlement agreements was "incomplete, if not erroneous," and their concern that the agreements may impair or impinge on their enforcement duties "is more imagined than real because they do no such thing." The settling parties have carefully carved out from the settlement agreements the states' authority to seek civil fines and injunctive relief, so the motion is denied, said the order filed in the Middle District of Tennessee.See attached documents....
