California AG defends data disclosure law before US appellate court

( July 15, 2026, 18:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: California Attorney General Rob Bonta told a US appeals court that its training-data-disclosure law only regulates commercial speech, asking it to affirm an order that denied xAI’s request for an injunction. “AB 2013 requires AI developers to disclose important factual information that will help consumers decide if they will use a generative AI model relative to other options on the market.
