US FCC plan to raise national cap 'unlawful,' Commissioner Gomez says

( July 15, 2026, 16:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Federal Communications Commission plan to raise the national television ownership cap through a vote in August is "unlawful," Commissioner Anna M. Gomez said. "The 39 percent cap is not an FCC rule that the Commission can change on its own.
