China removes 241,000 mislabeled short videos in content-labeling crackdown

( July 10, 2026, 09:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China's major websites and online platforms have removed more than 241,000 short videos that violated content-labeling requirements and taken action against more than 21,000 accounts since the country's internet regulator launched a labeling crackdown in May, according to the Cyberspace Administration of China. They also corrected or added required labels to more than 1.27 million short videos that were improperly labeled or carried no labels, the regulator added. The agency said it had also instructed local cyberspace regulators to summon operators of some small- and mid-sized platforms that failed to adequately implement the rules. The top-level cyberspace regulator also published a few typical violations. Statement follows (in Chinese). ...
