( July 8, 2026, 22:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Kraft Foods Global, The Kellogg Company, General Mills and Nestlé USA have asked an Illinois federal judge to hold a status conference after the US Department of Justice and 17 state attorneys general filed a complaint alleged that Cal-Maine, its executives and co-conspirators engaged in a new scheme to manipulate egg prices. The DOJ and states settled their claims against the egg producers. In a court filing, Kraft, Kellogg, General Mills and Nestlé said US District Judge Steven Seeger, who is overseeing their private litigation against Cal-Maine, Rose Acre Farms and others, "should inquire about the new conduct and ask why the Court should not lift the stay of the proceedings on attorneys’ fees and cost, as Plaintiffs have requested in a pending motion."
