Transocean, Valaris received CFIUS approval, entered timing agreement with US DOJ
( July 1, 2026, 14:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Offshore oil drillers Transocean and Valaris received approval for their deal from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States on June 29, and the companies entered a timing agreement with the US Department of Justice's Antitrust Division, promising not to certify substantial compliance with the agency's second request before July 31, Valaris said in a US securities filing. The firms have also agreed not to close their deal until 60 days after both firms certify compliance "unless the waiting period is terminated earlier by the DOJ," the filing says. Transocean and Valaris are cooperating with the DOJ and expect their deal to close in the second half of this year.Excerpt:...
