Japan seeks closer emerging-economy ties to bolster supply-chain resilience

The report, released on Tuesday, said emerging economies are becoming increasingly dependent on China in global supply chains, underscoring the need for like-minded countries to strengthen cooperation and build a more resilient international economic order. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry outlined a trade strategy focused on closer cooperation with emerging economies as trusted economic partners while strengthening energy security through closer ties between Asia and the Middle East. "Japan aims to build a truly free, mutually beneficial and 'trusted economic sphere' that includes major powers," METI said.The statement follows....
