US judge finds Workday must face Calif. discrimination claims over AI hiring tools

Lin has rejected Workday's attempt to dismiss claims that it violated the California Fair Employment and Housing Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. The plaintiffs have plausibly alleged enough of a California nexus for claims under California's FEHA, even for applicants outside California, because Workday allegedly designed, operated and controlled its AI hiring tools from California, Lin said. "Plaintiffs have sufficiently alleged that Workday, whose principal place of business is in California, participated in alleged misconduct in violation of the FEHA from its California headquarters," Lin said.See attached document....
