JFTC says 2025 enforcement focused on cartels, subcontractors, digital markets

( June 22, 2026, 07:05 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Japan Fair Trade Commission on Monday said it issued 15 legal measures in fiscal 2025, including 11 cease and desist orders and four approvals of commitment plans, as it targeted price cartels, bid rigging, unfair trade practices, subcontractor protections and digital market conduct. The regulator said it ordered 9.5 billion yen ($58.7 million) in surcharges, issued 39 recommendations under subcontractor transaction rules and took steps to implement Japan’s smartphone software competition law.The statements are attached (in Japanese)....
