US modifies Taiwanese wood tariffs, removes 232 metal duties
( May 27, 2026, 15:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Office of the US Trade Representative announced an amendment to Section 232 tariffs on Taiwanese imports of automobile parts, timber, lumber and wood derivatives and the removal of 232 tariffs on steel, aluminum and copper tariffs for aircraft components. The announcement follows a January memorandum of understanding between the American Institute in Taiwan and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the United States.See attached document....
