Google to comply with Indonesian Supreme Court ruling over app billing case

( March 19, 2026, 03:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google said it will "carefully examine and comply" with the Indonesian Supreme Court ruling upholding a 202.5 billion rupiah ($12 million) antitrust fine for anti-competitive behavior. In a statement sent to MLex, the company said it believes its practices support a healthy, competitive app ecosystem in Indonesia. The Indonesian Competition Commission accused Google of abusing its dominant position by requiring developers to use its Google Play Billing system exclusively for in-app purchases. The regulator also ordered Google to allow alternative payment options through its User Choice Billing program, including offering at least a 5 percent fee reduction to participating developers.Statement follows.Google spokesperson:“We believe our current practices foster a healthy, competitive Indonesian app ecosystem, and our focus remains on investing in building and supporting them. We will carefully examine and comply with the Court’s ruling when it is issued.”...
