Cvent's proposal to acquire ON24 cleared by Australian competition regulator

( March 18, 2026, 00:51 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Cvent Atlanta’s acquisition of cloud-based engagement platform ON24 through the merger of Summit Sub Corp, an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of Cvent, with ON24, has been approved by the Australian antitrust watchdog. In a determination published on Tuesday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said, ON24 does not offer services which are substitutable for Cvent’s in-person event-management platform. ON24 provides tools for webinars and virtual events, while Cvent provides cloud-based services for hospitality and event management and limited webinar services in Australia.Determination is attached....
