EU Commission advances emergency tools to address power prices, carbon market reform

A new proposal in the works would "increase the firepower" of the Market Stability Reserve, the mechanism designed to stabilize the EU emissions trading system. At the meeting, ministers also debated grid investment rules and the use of congestion revenues.The European Commission will assess national emergency measures designed to limit the impact of high gas prices on electricity markets, according to a letter sent to EU countries Monday and seen by MLex....
