Samsung SDS consortium closes in on South Korea AI computing center deal

( March 10, 2026, 05:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Ministry of Science and ICT announced Tuesday that it has designated the Samsung SDS-led consortium — the sole bidder in the October 2025 tender — as the preferred negotiating partner for the national artificial intelligence computing center project. The consortium, which also includes Naver Cloud, Samsung C&T, Kakao, Samsung Electronics and four other entities, proposed constructing the center at the Solaseado Data Center Park in Haenam, South Jeolla Province and securing 15,000 units of advanced AI semiconductors by 2028. The government and policy banks now aim to conclude negotiations on the remaining details of a special purpose company to be jointly established before the end of September.The statement is attached (in Korean)....
