Kimberly-Clark seeks New Zealand clearance for Kenvue acquisition

( March 3, 2026, 00:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Personal-care product manufacturer Kimberly-Clark Corporation is seeking approval in New Zealand for its plan to acquire 100 percent of the shares of Kenvue as part of a global merger, the New Zealand antitrust regulator said. In a statement on Tuesday, the Commerce Commission said that Kimberly-Clark and Kenvue both supply feminine hygiene products such as tampons, sanitary pads and panty liners in New Zealand. The regulator said that in its clearance application, filed in February but published on Tuesday, the companies proposed to divest the entirety of Kenvue’s feminine hygiene offering in New Zealand and Australia to address the competitive overlap. In a statement of preliminary issues, also published on Tuesday, the watchdog said it will assess whether the proposed divestment “will be likely to remedy any competition concerns that might arise from the proposed acquisition.”Statement follows.
