IonQ to acquire SkyWater Technology for $1.8 billion

( January 26, 2026, 22:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: IonQ, which bills itself as the world's leading quantum company, is acquiring SkyWater Technology, the largest pure-play semiconductor foundry exclusively based in the United States, for $35 per share or approximately $1.8 billion. The move "enables IonQ to materially accelerate its quantum computing roadmap and secure its fully scalable supply chain domestically," IonQ Chief Executive Niccolo de Masi said.
