China to roll out revised tariff framework from Jan. 1, 2026

( December 30, 2025, 05:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s tariff authority said Monday it will implement a revised tariff framework from Jan. 1, 2026, introducing provisional import tariffs on 935 products while keeping tariff-rate quota management unchanged for eight categories, including wheat. The Tariff Commission of the State Council said China will adjust selected tariff lines and domestic subheading notes, bringing the total to 8,972 national subheadings and 201 explanatory notes. Preferential arrangements will continue under 24 free trade and preferential trade agreements with 34 partners, including additional tariff cuts under deals with New Zealand, South Korea and Australia. Least developed countries with diplomatic ties to China will retain zero-tariff treatment on eligible products, subject to quota rules.The statement follows and the framework documents are attached....
