New York governor signs AI transparency legislation into law

( December 22, 2025, 14:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: New York Governor Kathy Hochul has signed transparency legislation into law that requires large AI developers to create and publish information about their safety protocols and report incidents to the State within 72 hours of determining that an incident occurred. The RAISE Act also creates an oversight office within the Department of Financial Services that will assess large frontier developers and enable greater transparency.
