No plans to ban telecom mid-contract price increases, UK minister says

Junior tech minister Liz Lloyd told lawmakers that customers already have the right to exit contracts if not happy about a price rise, and that the government has tasked Ofcom with examining whether the current notice period is adequate for customers.UK telecom companies won’t be barred from raising prices mid-contract, despite renewed pressure following recent increases. Consumer groups recently called for an outright ban on mid-contract rises, after O2 unexpectedly announced in late October that it was raising costs for existing customers....
