EU moves to calm new carbon system price fears with new stability measures

The plan includes doubling allowance releases if carbon prices exceed 45 euros per metric ton and advancing auctions to raise early revenues.The European Commission has moved to reassure EU governments about the potential social and economic fallout from the new emissions trading system for road transport and buildings, or ETS2, due to start in 2027, announcing measures to improve price predictability and affordability....
