Samba TV not granted dismissal of US privacy, wiretapping claims

US District Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley rejected Samba's argument that consumers have no expectation of privacy in their TV and streaming video history.Samba TV must face claims the data analytics company violated California privacy and federal wiretapping laws by collecting and selling information to advertisers to profile consumers based on what they watch on television and streaming services, a federal judge ruled Tuesday....
