China's trade steady in October as imports extend gains, exports ease slightly

( November 7, 2025, 09:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s goods trade grew marginally in October, with total imports and exports reaching 3.7 trillion yuan ($520 billion), up 0.1 percent from a year earlier, customs data showed Friday. Exports fell 0.8 percent to 2.17 trillion yuan, while imports rose 1.4 percent to 1.53 trillion yuan, marking a fifth straight month of import growth. In the first 10 months of the year, trade with ASEAN — China’s largest trading partner — expanded 9.1 percent to 6.18 trillion yuan, accounting for 16.6 percent of total trade. Commerce with the EU rose 4.9 percent to 4.88 trillion yuan, while trade with the US dropped 15.9 percent to 3.38 trillion yuan. Overall, China’s goods trade totaled 37.31 trillion yuan in the January-October period, up 3.6 percent year on year, with exports rising 6.2 percent and imports largely flat.The statement follows:...
