Former Facebook public policy head to join UK online safety regulator’s board

Richard Allan, who joins as a non-executive director, worked at Facebook (now Meta Platforms) for 10 years as vice-president of public policy, supervising more than 70 policy experts across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Allan has been a member of the UK Parliament since 2010 and, as a lawmaker, was an active voice in discussing the Online Safety Bill. Ofcom also appointed Tamara Ingram, who has an extensive career in advertising, to join as deputy chair of the board....
