Tempur Sealy, Mattress Firm ask US judge to modify restraining order

( February 3, 2025, 16:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Tempur Sealy and Mattress Firm have asked a US federal judge to adjust the expiration of their temporary restraining from 4 pm EST on Feb. 7, to noon EST the same day. This would preserve the companies' ability to close the merger before the deal's termination date Feb. 9, while still giving the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit a reasonable opportunity to consider any expedited request from the US Federal Trade Commission, they said. If the government is going to appeal the court's decision to let the companies merge while awaiting a full trial in the FTC's in-house administrative court, it will happen today, the filing said.  See attached file....
