The suggestion, which is part of a broader program to encourage the growth of start-ups and small businesses in the UK, has been met with mixed reviews from industry.A proposal to introduce new forms of tax relief in the UK — to help companies raise money against intangible assets such as patents, trademarks and copyright — formed part of the Business and Trade Committee’s recent report on how to encourage more financing in the economy.
