Sisvel's 3G Licensing suffers setback at US Federal Circuit

( February 3, 2025, 19:07 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary:  US Circuit Judge Kimberly Moore, writing for a three-judge panel on the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, said the US Patent and Trademark Office's Patent Trial and Appeal Board must take another look at a 3G Licensing patent. The board allowed 3G to substitute new claims in place of others deemed unpatentable, but in so doing, 3G disclosed a four-step method with out-of-order steps. That ran afoul of the Patent Act's written description requirement, the Federal Circuit ruled.See attached document....
