UK organizations holding care records urged to improve data management practices

( December 9, 2025, 14:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: UK organizations that hold medical and care records, such as local authorities, charities and private companies, must improve their records-management framework urgently, the data privacy regulator said in a new campaign launched Tuesday. The Information Commissioner’s Office has detailed expectations for how records are created and stored, and for how subject access requests are handled. The regulator has sent a letter to organizations that hold or create care records urging them to implement the improved standards as a priority, and to put resources in place to ensure they can manage the volume and complexity of requests without delay.
