Commonwealth Bank of Australia penalized over data-portability failures

( December 9, 2025, 05:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Commonwealth Bank of Australia has paid A$792,000 ($525,975) in penalties for breaching the country’s data-portability rules, the competition regulator said in a statement on Tuesday. The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said it issued four infringement notices alleging the bank breached consumer data right, or CDR, rules by failing to enable data-sharing for certain business and partnership accounts. The statement added that impacted customers had to perform manual workarounds or revert to less secure methods of data sharing because they could not access CDR-enabled products and services.Statement follows....
