Australian regulator appoints key official to oversee privacy-law changes

In a social media post today, Australian Privacy Commissioner Carly Kind said that Kate Bower has been appointed to lead the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner's privacy reform implementation taskforce. A privacy advocate, Bower established and led the consumer data rights team at consumer group Choice that ran campaigns relating to privacy-law changes, facial-recognition technology and artificial intelligence regulation, Kind said in her LinkedIn post today.
