Selling GEDI archive to OpenAI could breach EU law, Italian authority says

The warning states that the archives contain “extremely sensitive personal data that cannot be licensed for use by third parties to train artificial intelligence without due caution.” Handing over this data to OpenAI could break EU data protection law, said the watchdog, which found fault with GEDI’s risk assessment and choice of legal basis under the law for ceding or licensing the data to OpenAI for processing....
