China's MIIT unveils regulation on contingency plan for data security incidents

The severity of data security incidents — categorized as particularly major, major, relatively major and general — is determined by evaluating the impact on national security, enterprise network infrastructure, information systems, production operations, and economic activities. Corporate data handlers are mandated to develop contingency plans and bear responsibility for incident prevention, monitoring, emergency response, and reporting....
