( February 5, 2025, 01:09 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Groundbreaking rules banning the use of artificial intelligence by lawyers in the Australian state of New South Wales have been modified to allow for the use of the technology in some instances while ensuring that uploaded information can’t be used to train AI models. In a statement this week, the Supreme Court of New South Wales said lawyers would be able to use AI for the generation of chronologies, the preparations of briefs, the summarizing or review of documents and transcripts and the preparation of written submissions or summaries of argument.
