Charter, Cox didn't meaningfully engage on deal's impacts in opening brief, groups say

( June 5, 2026, 23:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Charter Communications and Cox Communications failed to meaningfully engage with the impacts of their proposed transaction in California, according to a brief submitted by a group of advocacy groups. The Center for Accessible Technology, California Alliance for Digital Equity, East Bay Broadband Consortium, Fresno Coalition for Digital Inclusion and Media Alliance filed a reply brief, arguing that the merging parties' discussion in support of the proposed settlements throughout their opening brief is against the rules of the California Public Utilities Commission. The joint advocates also highlighted the merging parties' failure to demonstrate that the deal is in the public interest.See document attached....
